Best-ever floor cleaners

There’s nothing worse than dirty floors, especially if you’ve got little ones around the house. Get floors that sparkle and shine without coating them in a layer of chemicals. Select from the following formulations to suit the job at hand.

Vinyl and linoleum
1 cup white vinegar
4 litres of warm water
¼ cup borax
Few drops of essential oil
Brick and stone tiles
1 cup white vinegar
4 litres of warm water

Wood
In a small bowl, mix one-part vegetable oil to one-part white vinegar
Use a microfiber cloth to rub into the wood, creating a deep shine
Painted wood
1 tsp washing soda
4 litres hot water
